Franco Donatoni

Franco Donatoni, 1927-2000, was born in Verona, Italy and started studying violin at the age of seven. He later studied in the conservatories of Milan and Bologna. A composer of singular originality, Donatoni had a musical career that spanned nearly fifty years. His compositions have been played by such people as Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Bruno Maderna, Salvatore Accardo, Alain Meunier, and many others.
