Martin Goldray
Martin Goldray (music director, keyboards) has taught at Dartmouth College and is currently on the faculty at Sarah Lawrence College. He has been a member of the Philip Glass Ensemble since 1983, and has conducted the premieres of several of Glass's operas, including Orphée, Hydrogen Jukebox and 1000 Airplanes on the Roof . His many recordings of contemporary music include, in addition to many Glass recordings, music by Elliott Carter and Milton Babbitt. His CD "Milton Babbitt: Piano Music Since 1983" includes the premiere recordings of three pieces, including the composer's most recent solo piano work, which was written for him. He received his BA at Cornell, a Doctorate in Piano at Yale, and studied in Paris on a Fulbright Scholarship.
