Bang on a Can

The Books, the electric-audio collage duo of Paul de Jong and Nick Zammuto, began as a group in 2000. They do all their own sample collecting, composing, writing, recording, mixing and mastering in their own studio using pc’s running cheap software and the equipment they’ve pieced together over the years. The Books belong to a group of unique musicians who are their own producers and engineers using found audio and video as the primary source of their music and video performance. The group has also funded all of their music independently and their previous three recordings have garnered critical accolades as well as an ever-growing fan base.
