Ein Kleines Volkslied

The lines of definition between folk, popular and art music are often unclear. The Irish folksong Annie Laurie is central to the structure of Ein Kleines Volkslied. It is the subconscious of the work's inspiration and its organization. Ein Kleines Volkslied (A Little Folksong) was commissioned by Bang on a Can and completed the last day of 1997. --Alvin Singleton
